Friday Five: WrestleMania!

Our Super Bowl is upon us!

1. Who would you say is the greatest WrestleMania performer of all-time?

2. Does the move to the big stadia add to the aura of the big event, or was it better in the famous arenas like Madison Square Garden?

3. Should Undertaker ever lose his streak, and if so, to whom?

4. What do you think of this year's WWE HOF class?

5. What was your favorite WM of all-time?

  1. 1. Who would you say is the greatest WrestleMania performer of all-time?

Cliche it may be, but I can't think of anyone producing more great WM matches than HBK.

    2. Does the move to the big stadia add to the aura of the big event, or was it better in the famous arenas like Madison Square Garden?

I like the big crowd for the big event. The closest you can get to Roman gladiatorial grandeur without Giant Gonzalez!

    3. Should Undertaker ever lose his streak, and if so, to whom?

Either never ever, or HBK beats him Sunday and neither are ever heard from again. Like, they actually disappear.

    4. What do you think of this year's WWE HOF class?

Pretty decent. Moneybags one of the most outrageous heels of his very long day, and Hart and Inoki building wrestling as an art and science, and leaving pro wrestling considerably better off than they found it.

    5. What was your favorite WM of all-time?

Better wrestling in others, but 14 is my sentimental favorite.

  2. 1. Shawn Michaels
    2. I like the big venue look. MSG was great, too. No need to have WrestleMania in a place like Hartford though.
    3. Maybe, if there's someone who needs it and won't be someone who screws it up or they screw him up. If Sheamus gets more over, he might be the best present candidate to end it.
    4. It's alright. I was hoping they'd put Warrior in this time. I think next year being in Atlanta will have a stronger class.
    5. 17, followed closely by 10 and 14.

  3. 1. Michaels. Although, an argument can be made for either Randy Savage (VI excluded), Kurt Angle or Edge.

    2. It definitely gives a bigger feel and as long as they can pack in stadia that size, there's no reason to downsize.

    3. Randy Orton was the first I'd considered to be an actual candidate for dethroning, but now, no. Retirements get fudged all the time; winning streaks don't (unless your Drew McIntyre).

    4. Better than most. Koko B Ware kinda lowers the bar for anyone after this point. And the fact that Ted DiBiase has now officially been screwed out of a WWF Title Reign AND was overlooked for Koko B Ware in 2009 is kind of infuriating.

    5. It's cliche, but for a reason: 17. Its weakest parts were either kept extremely short (Women's, six man) or were at the very least mark out nostalgia (gimmick battle royal). Their talent pool was never stronger and they made the most of their pairings. Had they swapped and went for Guerrero/Jericho and Regal/Test, then Sunday would have absolutely no chance to top. As a result, we may see the best show yet in two days.
