Not very good news concerning wrestling legend Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. He's been hospitalized in Tampa, FL, reportedly going in and out of a coma. I'm not sure what the reason is, but regardless, it's serious business. Keep Heenan and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Here's hoping he pulls through.

ReplyDeleteWhat is the latest on Bobby Heenan? Hopefully he's recovering. I heard, on another wrasslin' fan site (youtube) so I'll take it with a grain of salt, but what I heard was that Bobby was having his jaw reconstructed after the throat cancer messed him up.
Sadly, that happened with another actor, (Remember Jack Wild~ Oliver, H.R. Puf N Stuf? Same thing).
I pretty much grew up watching Bobby's ringside antics, because my father and brother were pro-wrestlin' fans. For some reason, while I disliked Bobby's onscreen 'character', I also thought he was funny as all get out! I now have both books and plan to get the new dvd, on the advice of a friend, who is a HUGE wrasslin' fan. These days, I'm looking for pretty much everything Heenan related, but would really like to know how he's comin' along.
