Weekend Wrap-Up: NWA? SMH!

I jinxed him! I jinxed him! NOOO!

- Less than two months after he won the title, Colt Cabana dropped the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in Jacksonville on Saturday to The Sheik at a Pro Wrestling Fusion show. No, it's not the Detroit-area regional star and WWE Hall of Famer; he's been dead for 8 years now. It's also not the Iron Sheik, although I'd rather have seen Sheiky baby with this title (those without sarcasm meters, no, I wouldn't). Rather, this new Sheik's alter ego is Joey Machete. According to some prodding around the Intartubes, this Sheik has been trying to get at the NWA title for 18 months now. Even more prodding reveals that Machete is the head booker of Pro Wrestling Fusion. I'll have more on this later.

- CLASH Wrestling ran a show this weekend. I'd love to tell you about it, but I can't find results anywhere. If anyone attended and can give a report as to what happened, I'd appreciate it.

- You know I'm struggling for news items when I report on Twitter frenzies. Anyway, the latest hysteria came when the links to Beth Phoenix's and Rosa Mendes' profiles turned up empty links Saturday morning on WWE.com. Showing ultimate restraint and supreme logic, a good portion of the Twitterati assumed OH NO, OH NO! BETH PHOENIX HAS BEEN FUTURE ENDEAVORED! THE SKY IS FALLING! THE SKY IS FALLING! Turns out, in what could end up being a spoiler for tonight's draft, the two Divas were switched from Smackdown's superstar depository to RAW's, but the url wasn't changed to reflect that. You can't make this shit up.

Remember you can contact TH and ask him questions about wrestling, life or anything else. Please refer to this post for contact information. He always takes questions!

  1. Colt was a transitional champ since day one. Rumor is Pearce wouldn't drop the title to Sheik, therefor, he dropped it to Colt, who dropped it to Sheik.

New Sheik is awesome. Don't hate on New Sheik.

Sheik will probably lose it to Pearce in their big match coming up soon anyway.
