1. Longterm story with Daniel Bryan
There is so much history here that really hasn't been fully actualized. Yes, Bryan defeated Miz for the United States Championship, but there was still a lot of exploration that could've been done there. They teased it with a teaming before WrestleMania, but I feel like they could do a lot more with a new alliance with the NXT dynamic reversed. Miz teams with Bryan after Bryan has achieved the top of the mountain. They run roughshod for a few months until Miz stabs him in the back, steals AJ from him and causes Bryan to turn good for good. Obviously, this is a skeleton outline, but it has a lot of room to be fleshed out.
2. Turn him good by having Brock Lesnar beat the shit out of him
Lesnar is positioned as an asskicker, and Miz looks like a guy who would look great getting his ass kicked and coming back for more. Imagine if in a match, Lesnar just brutalized the shit out Miz and he kept coming back for more. He kicks out of a F5, kicks out of a second F5, gets tossed all around the ring and continues to kick out, refuses to submit to the kimura, ends up losing the match on a ref stoppage. His guttiness wins over the crowd, and he turns into an underdog babyface afterwards.
3. Have him be the anchor of a newly reinstated tag team division
The tag team division has been in flux since Miz was last an anchor of it with Big Show as Tag Team Champion. The key to having a great tag division is that the top teams should be on the main event level. Since I don't see the Road Warriors walking through that door, mongrel teams featuring main event or close to main event talent would be the key to rebuilding. Trot Miz out there with one of the young heels without the mic skills, someone like Ryback or Leo Kruger or even Lord Tensai. If they really got behind the tag division, then not only would the belts become a thing again, the people holding them would have a main event cache. Miz has proven he can hang with the big guys, so of course, he's a perfect guy to be the anchor for a rebirth.
4. Trade him to Smackdown, have him and Alberto del Rio rule the show as a Two Man Power Trip like group
WWE has tried the dual-heel-on-top thing with Triple H and Steve Austin the first time, and it would've worked had it not been for Trips' pesky quad! Obviously, Miz and del Rio don't have the same cache, but it's Smackdown, and it's a thing to do on a show where that sort of story could be left unabated. I dunno, I feel like del Rio, Miz and Ricardo Rodriguez would also have really entertaining backstage segments as well.
5. Be the one to put John Cena out with a longterm injury next time he has to go film a movie
The downside to this would be that he would be fodder for Cena to "overcome the odds against" when he came back if you know what I mean, but like against Bryan, there's still some juice there between the two guys. Of course, Miz would have to use that "career ending" power to get ahead while Cena was out, and while there'd be a definitive blowoff at the end when Cena got back, the point would be that Miz would have cache enough that he could bounce back.
6. Have him win Money in the Bank again, preschedule his cash-in attempt and win the title in a hard-fought match
This has only been done once, and yeah, while it was a once in a lifetime deal, it was still a big moment in WWE history. I don't expect the crowd to be as rabid for Miz against whomever as they were for Rob Van Dam at One Night Stand, but I think given a good story and a great match, both things that I think Miz are capable of, it would end up being a great launching pad for Miz to blast off from.
