Yes, this is a bit of market research too, shut up.
1. If I were to put out t-shirts, would you purchase them, and how much would you be willing to pay?
2. Buy or sell: WWE t-shirts in the last two years have gotten better in design.
3. Is a wrestler wearing his/her own t-shirt redundant or good advertising?
4. What is your opinion on Barbershop Window?
5. Do you wear wrestling t-shirts in public, and if not, why not?

1. Sure. I would be willing to pay FREE so GIVE ME ONE.
ReplyDelete2. Buy. WWE shirts used to be dick jokes in white font on black. They put out some legit looking stuff nowadays.
3. Good advertising. Most people only know a shirt exists if the wrestler wears it on TV. People think my "Hugging Is All The Rage" shirt is homemade, because they've never seen Daniel Bryan wear it.
4. A good idea and a terrible product. My Veda Scott shirt went from L to petite junior miss or whatever in one wash.
5. Of course, because I like wrestling. I wore a Christina Von Eerie shirt to the gym yesterday.
1. If I were to put out t-shirts, would you purchase them, and how much would you be willing to pay? $10
ReplyDelete2. Buy or sell: WWE t-shirts in the last two years have gotten better in design.
Way better instead of generic font and Rock's tattoo it's actual design work
3. Is a wrestler wearing his/her own t-shirt redundant or good advertising?
Good advertising how we suppose to know if Cena has a new color?
4. What is your opinion on Barbershop Window?
heard a lot of bad things about them I prefer Gimmicks Tees
5. Do you wear wrestling t-shirts in public, and if not, why not?
Sure I just have 2 at the moment though :)
1. Honestly it would depend on the design but if it's a good design then around $10-15.
ReplyDelete2. Better. I think the increase in "mom & pop" shirt places has made them step up their game. However, it would be great if WWE made shirts for ladies that fit up top.
3. Good advertising, especially for the guys & gals who aren't on the top of the card.
4. I love them. Some designs are better than others, but I like when I can buy a shirt from an indy wrestler through them. I've got a ton from their site and have been using them since the beginning, especially when they started putting all their shirts in ladies sizes and not just juniors. That being said, they are 100% cotton and will shrink if you dry them in the dryer but that's true of all tees.
5. Yup! I wear my BSW Veda Scott, Hart Dungeon and Dusty Sucks Eggs all the time. Every now and then I get a knowing nod from a fellow fan. Or people think I have something against the Cubs and Dusty Baker (which I do, but wrong reference guys.) ;)
1. It depends on what they look like. Shirts should never be more than about $12, but they almost always are.
ReplyDelete2. I have no idea, but a couple years ago when The Rock came back to WrestleMania, there was that shirt they made that said "FINALLY" on the front, but the font they used made the F and the I look like an A so there were all these people wearing shirts that apparently said "ANALLY" on the front. Good work, designers.
3.Both.
4.Sexist website, poor design, ridiculous prices.
5. Sometimes. I don't have that many.
1. I actually like the font on the website header, so I would certainly consider it for about a $15 range of price.
ReplyDelete2. To a point, buy. I think they finally realized they're missing a gold mine with the sale of vintage style T-shirts, because there are hipsters that watch wrestling, too. It has to explain why I saw an old WWF block logo shirt and a Steve Austin WWF camo shirt within the calendar year at the watering holes I frequent. And quite a few of these newer ones (the Punk shirts, Damien Sandow's tee, even the kitschy Nexus T-shirt) are ones I genuinely would wear in addition to my blander T-shirts.
3. As Robert said, both. The Nexus wearing their own shirt directly led me to buy that shirt. It's also kind of hilarious to see these bunch of outlaws sell T-shirts in the company they want to destroy from the ground up.
4. I'm not crazy about them. There are a couple of positives, like them developing a YES YES YES shirt before WWE got the clue to do exactly that, but I totally find it obnoxious when T-shirt models (especially when it doesn't add anything to showing how the T-shirt looks when worn) exist in any capacity, much less a wrestling T-shirt website.
5. I have two to my memory, a Nexus tee from 2010 and that vintage Summerslam shirt the website sold around 2011. And yeah, I've worn them a lot.
1. Couldn't tell you unless I see something. If it tickles my fancy, sure.
ReplyDelete2. Buy. I still don't buy any of them but they have looked better.
3. It is good advertising but wouldn't it say something more if perhaps another wrestler wore someone else's shirt? Like say a Yoshi Tatsu wearing a Cena shirt backstage or something?
4. I'm not really familiar with them. Been on their site maybe once or twice and that's it.
5. I usually wear them when I go to wrestling shows but I've worn my ROH shirt from time to time to school. Can't do that so much with my Midwest Militia or Team Be Jealous shirts.
1. Depends on if I like the design/the color works for me. Also, it can't obviously be a wrestling shirt or say wrestling on it. It needs to be ambiguous enough that someone that doesn't know wrestling would just think it's a cool logo/design/picture. I think $20 is my maximum for a normal t-shirt (I might be willing to go up a bit more if it's out of print or a limited print run), but I'd prefer $15.
ReplyDelete2. I haven't been watching that long, but I guess? There are less that look like MMA shirts with skulls and stuff, so that's good.
3. I think occasionally wearing it is cool because it lets fans wearing it feel like they wear the same shirt the person they're rooting for does. However, there are some wrestlers I don't really think it works for, like Damien Sandow, who I feel should always wear his velvet smoking jacket/bath robe.
4. I like 'em. There are a lot of designs I wouldn't buy, but that's more personal preference. I own their YES YES YES shirt (which they beat the WWE to), but that's it. I'd like to order some more shirts (maybe the Wahoo's leg one or another similar old school shirt), but they're a bit pricey.
5. Not really. I mostly wear them for ppvs/live events. I don't like wearing my one official WWE shirt (it's the white CM Punk shirt from the summer of '11), because it shrunk a lot after 1 or 2 washes, the fabric is really light (and somewhat see-through - I can see my chest hair through it) and I don't like that there's a WWE logo on it (again, I hate having shirts that are obviously wrestling related, especially if it's WWE - I want it so only wrestling fans know I'm wearing a wrestling shirt). I did get some nice comments for my FIST shirt that I decided to wear on a non-wrestling day. I also have a Mr. Touchdown shirt that I really want to wear more, but given that all my friends are nerds, I'm not sure how well some of them will take it.
1. possibly. Depends on the design/color/etc. A great looking T shirt for $20 is okay in my books.
ReplyDelete2. I'll Buy Somewhat. Some of their shirts are great looking and could pass for "I could wear this shirt in public and not have someone think I was an asshole". Then again some of their shirts are ridiculously to the point that I wouldn't even wear that if I was given it for free after my clothes were destroyed in a natural disaster. Their designs are either too gaudy that make the shirt too busy or they have a great design with a horrible color shirt. Case in point, CM Punk's recent shirt that was yellow. No wears yellow well. In the history of wrestling shirts, the majority have been garbage. Once you find a great design that can blend into the real world, that's when you have a diamond in the rough.
3. I like it. Yeah, it's redundant, but it works in the "world of Professional Wrestling". If I had a custom t shirt made of my catchphrase or design, I'd rock it. And I would expect my cult to wear it as well!
4. First off, I've bought three shirts from them. "Fuji Vice", "Million Dollar Tuxedo shirt", and "That's not fair to Flair". The only one I really regret was the Flair one. I think that was their first shirt and I didn't expect an avalanche of shirts from them shortly thereafter. With that being said, I've worn the Fuji Vice shirt the most in the real world. It's solid and it passes under the radar of normal people. That being said, Barbershop Window's products fall under the category of "somewhat overpriced" and "What the hell are they thinking?" In the beginning a majority of their shirts had solid deigns, and then they started putting out shit. Their designs are too simple for the price they're charging and the wrestlers or jokes are somewhat too obscure sometimes. They reach for things far too often. As for the females on the site? Meh. I could care less if they used a female model to push their shit. Every clothing site uses females to sell their wares. As for the people running the Barbershop, they seem to be rather "douchey" sometimes. They still haven't made my "Waylon Mercy Insurance: Your Lives Are in My Hands" shirt idea.
5. I have worn wrestling shirts out in public or to a bar. I'm very particular about wrestling shirts. I'm not wearing any shirt with a wrestler's face on it. That's just stupid. If the shirt has a catch phrase or logo that can go under the radar of the general public without being something you'd be embarrassed to wear. Anything that looks like an Ed Hardy shirt can go straight into the garbage can. Case in point, my favorite wrestling shit of all time is the black "Outsiders" t shirt. All black shirt, with "Outsiders" written in red. Very cool and chill. Granted it has a small red "nWo" logo on the right sleeve, but I just slightly roll it to hide that. I wear my "4 Horsemen" shirt(Benoit/Malenko/AA/Flair version) at the gym. Wish I had bought one of the less busy Beer Money shirts when it was out. The Kaientai "EVIL" shirt was great for being a wrestling shirt, but not looking like a wrestling shirt.
1. Maybe depends on the look & price
ReplyDelete2. Null I don't really follow WWE
3. Most indy guys wear their own stuff, but I do hate it when they have their own shirt but none for sale (I'm looking at you Player Uno & Kevin Steen)
4. I've checked them out a few times. Shirts are ok but the prices are bit steep for me to consider ordering one
5. I rock all my wrestling shirts out in public and so does my wife, I'm actually wearing my yellow El Generico shirt today at work. My collection includes all El Generico shirts except for the blue one w/ the cartoon El Generico's on it (I'm debating if I should get it before they are no longer available), Claudio's cafe black t-shirt, RockNES Monsters spinoff of Futurama, Paul London's Intrepid Traveler, PWG original design in black (although I wanted the dark green). My wife's collection includes several El Generico shirts, Johnny Yuma spinoff of Scott Pilgrim design, RockNES Monsters anime style shirt. I wanted the Willie Mack sugar daddy design but all he had was small err. I want to surprise the wife with Joey Ryan Legalize Sleaze t-shirt as she's a big fan of his, and for myself I would like a LuFisto & SSB shirts.
1, Heck yeah.
ReplyDelete2. Buy. I feel like they used to try to make more affliction style tshirts. Now they are making wrestling tshirts.
3. I don't mind it at all. Its all about selling your stuff.
4. I like them, never gotten a chance to buy anything from them but I love their concepts.
5. I've never had a problem wearing wrestling tshirts in public. I wear them all the time around campus and yeah I get some looks, but it also sparks some conversation, which is nice.
1. As long as its comfortable and has a cool design. I'd pay $20
ReplyDelete2. Sell. I've never liked any WWE shirt
3. Good advertising
4. Cool shirts. Slow ass website
5. If I owned one, I would! It's just a shirt!
Is there another website besides Barbershop Window that sells cool wrestling shirts?
ReplyDelete1. If I were to put out t-shirts, would you purchase them, and how much would you be willing to pay?
ReplyDeleteAs I've said before, all depends on the design and color, and I'd like the cost to be about $20 with shipping.
2. Buy or sell: WWE t-shirts in the last two years have gotten better in design.
Slight buy. By definition, they've gotten better. But there's still a lot of crud to go through.
3. Is a wrestler wearing his/her own t-shirt redundant or good advertising?
Good advertising at a show, by far. I also understand that not everyone can really wear their shirts to the ring, as it takes away from the character.
4. What is your opinion on Barbershop Window?
Bare with me. Some good, even great designs, having purchased a few. But their moto must be Quantity > Quality. Offers more product than they can handle, as they advertise seemingly everywhere, but only has three employees, leading to horrible turn around times. When people rightly complain, they play the "we're a small business, leave us alone!" card. Sells a $5 wrestling PPV shirt at $25. Seems to really lean on the "parody" law with some of their designs to avoid copyright complaints (I would hope Daniel Bryan got a check from all their YES shirts). Used the Bobby Hennan Quotes twitter account to essentially spam Twitter timelines to promote their store. Sponsors on "paid premium" podcasting. During a read, a podcaster said "Don't buy from any other Wrestling T-Shirt websites". Considering that other "smart" wrestling T-Shirts companies have been around for years prior, and that any mom and pop, small business company is worth supporting if they give a quality product (in the same vain of independent wrestling), I hadn't bought a T-Shirt from them since. So.... don't be like them, and you'll have my support.
5. Do you wear wrestling t-shirts in public, and if not, why not?
I did more often (why should I be embarrased, I'd say). But I do feel like most of them are bad looking outside of the wrestling bubble. I know I should be all "F you, I like wrestling and these shirts" Perhaps I just hadn't found the right ones lately.
