From the Archives: Triple H vs. The Undertaker, WrestleMania X-7

Triple H wrestled The Undertaker at WrestleManias XXVII and XXVIII. The matches were generally overwrought, boring, and saccharine, at least from my view. Those two matches were the second and third in a WrestleMania trilogy, however. Once upon a time, Undertaker's Streak wasn't exactly heavily promoted by WWE. Undertaker returned a year before their match would take place at Mania X-7, and instead of Trips' objective being that he wanted to wrestle a classic match against Taker to end his undefeated run at Mania, the two actually had real beef behind their showdown in 2001. The culmination was not only the pair's best match at Mania, but it is also one of the finest matches within The Streak, and one of the best WrestleMania faceoffs ever. Just as a programming note, an episode of Robert Fuller's Streak retrospective podcast will be dropping soon with me talking about this match. Keep on the lookout for it!
