Throwback Thursday: The Hit King Gets Hit

Pete Rose is notable for being Major League Baseball's all-time leader in hits and for being barred from being in its Hall of Fame because he gambled on the game as manager of the Cincinnati Reds. Ever the opportunist organization, WWE ended up enshrining Rose in its own Hall of Fame for his exploits in the company, starting with his "debut" at WrestleMania XIV in Boston. Rose heeled on the fans for its team's lack of World Series victories (which in 1998 was more than valid as the Sox were still eight years from its drought-breaking title). Kane didn't take to kindly to Rose, although his aggressions probably had very little to do with Rose's clowning of the Sox and more that at the time, his character was still nascent and homicidal.
