From the Archives: Bryan Danielson vs. Prince Devitt

Devitt, now Bálor, never crossed paths with Bryan in WWE, but they did wrestle in the NWA

At its inception, TNA was associated with the National Wrestling Alliance, which gave the promotion access to instant history with the NWA's Championships. Sometime in 2007, the governing body and the then-second biggest promotion in the US severed ties with each other, and the NWA World Championship was vacated. The group held a tournament featuring some of the best unsigned talent in the world. Two of those wrestlers were Bryan Danielson and Fergal "Prince" Devitt. You may know the latter better as current NXT World Champion Finn Bálor.

The match took place July 21 in North Tonawanda, NY, and it was the final match of the Jack Brisco sub-bracket. This match featured a pre-Bullet Club, pre-cosplay entrance Devitt, but it certainly is worth the watch. It's a shame these two never were able to cross paths in the ring in WWE, but at least the NWA gave the world this gem.
