Why You Should Know Chris Hero: Chris Hero is one of the most common names brought up when the question of "Which indie star is next to go to the WWE or TNA?" and it's for good reason. He's a very well-rounded combination of size, charisma and working ability that the folks in Stamford look for. Even if the WWE never takes notice of him (which most indie fans are praying is the case), he's one of the most visible and popular (or infamous, depending on your level of markdom) wrestlers on the circuit today. He's been booked all over the country and continues to take bookings for PWG and EVOLVE. He's also signed a contract with ROH recently, and the de facto 3rd national promotion seems to think very highly of That Young Knockout Kid.

Hero is one of the more effective heels in the indie circuit today. Wherever he's gone, he's had crowds jeering at him and calling for his head. That's an invaluable asset and one that keeps him getting booked and getting paid. If you want to get someone over as a babyface, whether it be Claudio Castagnoli in Chikara or Eddie Kingston in ROH, you pair him with Hero. He's also an effective tag team wrestler, especially with the aforementioned Castagnoli. The two right now are anchoring the ROH tag team division now that the American Wolves are seemingly going the singles route, SteenErico is broken up and the Briscoes keep getting overtures from the WWE.

Whether Hero goes or stays, his future is bright in this industry. I can see him capturing the ROH World Championship before year's end. He'd be the perfect guy to take the belt off Tyler Black's hands once his reign has run its course. He'll also be an effective, heat-drawing Champion for the fed and can work with any number of babyface challengers once his reign begins.
