Friday Five: Money in the Bank

With the announcement that Money in the Bank (as well as Fatal Fourway and "spin the wheel, make a deal") has gotten its own PPV, here's a Friday Five about the match itself:

1. What was your favorite Money in the Bank match?

2. Do you think that Mr. Kennedy would still be with the WWE today if he hadn't gotten hurt and actually cashed in his briefcase for the title?

3. Do you think it's a wise idea if they ran two MitBs (one at WM and one at the PPV) a year?

4. Who would you like to see win MitB this year, whenever it happens?

5. Do you think MitB headlining its own PPV will work?

3 comments:

  1. 1. WM 21 -- Benoit, Jericho, Edge, Christian, Shelton, Kane -- that's a lineup

    2. No, not necessarily

    3. I don't think so. Sort of defeats the original purpose. Ditch the WrestleMania one and actually have a WrestleMania undercard.

    4. John Morrison

    5. I think it will, if they protect it like they do with the Elimination Chamber. I think I'd like qualifying matches on the PPV.

  2. 1. WM22 - with Shelton's crazy springboard onto the ladder, and Flair doing a Flair Flop from the top of a ladder.

    2. I feel like his destiny (LOST) was to be fired. Injuries, drugs, dropping Randy Orton on his head... he was meant for TNA. Or getting eaten by John Locke Smoke Monster.

    3. I wouldn't be into it. I get the impression that they'd drop the MITB from Mania, but who knows. They seem to like doing big gimmick matches in 3's, so maybe they'll add one at the end of the year too!

    4. DANIEL BRYAN.

Okay, realistically, maybe Christian - only because I need to see an Edge/Christian title feud ASAP. Or Morrison would be good too.

    5. I heard it could be done like Survival of the Fittest where the PPV is headlined by the MITB, but you have your qualifying matches on the same night. I think it'd be cool if it was treated like the new King of the Ring.

  3. 1. WM 23 - Jeff squashing Edge through the ladder, Kennedy's rolling fireman's carry on Hornswoggle, etc.

    2. Considering the sheer number of times he got hurt afterwards, continually stuck his foot in his mouth and couldn't seem to get the Wellness Policy straight, probably not. Although, the biggest mistake they made with Kennedy was not bringing him back as a babyface chasing Edge's title after the injury.

    3. No, makes the briefcase far less special.

    4. The Miz. Seems like the best choice to carry that briefcase (and THREE BELTS~!) around like Ultimo Dragon in WCW.

    5. I'm leaning towards no.
