Why You Should Know Austin Aries: Because he's the best all-around talent in the indies today, that's why. TNA had him and they didn't know what to do with him, which is a shame for TNA, but given the state of the company, maybe Aries is better off now. The WWE may only see a "vanilla midget", but the guy is the real deal. He cuts some of the best promos, he has some of the best mannerisms and gesticulation while in the ring and he just oozes charisma.
In the ring, he's one of the best, most versatile wrestlers in any circuit. He can have great matches with anyone in any setting. Last year, he stepped into the comedic lucha libre arena of Chikara and fit like a glove. He's spent the time since then as the ultimate prick heel wrestler and I have no doubts he can work any style. He's got a good 450, a nice brainbuster and the Last Chancery is a great nouveau-submission hold. It's no wonder that he's been at the top of the mountain in ROH twice. You'd better be able to work if you get to that mountaintop.
Honestly, and I'm not just saying this because Aries is one of my favorite wrestlers ever, he's the real deal. He's always a highlight on whatever show he's on, no matter how dull the rest of the card is. He's the complete package, and if he was taller, he'd be on his way to superstardom in the WWE right now, no doubts about it.
