Weekend Wrap-Up: LOST Highway

SHAV'D~!

- LOST finale was epic. I may do an emergency TWIOT entry to discuss it, because it was that good. Not surprisingly though, there is no consensus as the show really split the fanbase down the middle. My wife and I both loved it, others wanted more answers, and still others hated it because they totally misinterpreted the meaning of the last half-hour of it. Whatever camp you're in, it's fine, opinions are opinions, just as long as you're not in the "zomg y do peepl care? hay, i wuz rite in nevr watchin it cuz some peelp think it suxed! LOST IS CORNY BECAUSE I DON'T WATCH IT!!1" camp.

- Okay, this is a wrestling blog, and a lot of wrestling happened this weekend, not the least of which was the WWE's Over the Limit PPV, which was an all-out face-a-palooza. Hart Dynasty and John Cena retained, Kofi Kingston won the IC Championship, CM Punk got a fresh cut (in more ways than one) courtesy of Rey Mysterio and R-Truth beat Ted DiBiase. Also, Randy Orton separated his shoulder doing his pre-RKO taunt where he pounds the mat. No, I'm not making this shit up. Of course, world-class assfuck Ken Anderson had something to say about that:
I have one thing to say: Kharma is a MOTHERFUCKER!!
Hey Ken, first off, learn to spell, okay? Two, you didn't get fired from WWE because you almost hurt Randy Orton. You got fired because you were generally sloppy in the ring and getting hurt and almost killing Orton was the final straw. You don't get to feel schadenfreude. You don't get to revel in Orton's injury, you know why? Because you only had yourself to blame for getting shitcanned from the WWE. Eat a fat dick.

But onto the show, well, I'm skeptical about a show with a face white-wash, but at the same time, I've heard really, really good things about the Punk/Mysterio match, blood stoppage aside.

- JAPW's Liger vs. Homicide event took place Saturday, and amazingly, a gaggle of guys who were at ROH tapings on Saturday made it up the NJ Turnpike in time for the show, including Steve Corino, El Generico, Necro Butcher, Kevin Steen, Sara del Rey and Rhett Titus. I've heard the titular match was pretty good. Homicide went over. I may seek this show out on DVD.

- CHIKARA ran its Aniversario weekend shows. The Tyngsboro show saw the BDK unveil their newest member, Delirious, which makes sense since they're in possession of the Eye of Tyr now. Delirious helped Ares defeat former master/stablemate UltraMantis Black. In Union City, the BDK retained the Campeonatos de Parejas, and Derek Sabato ran out to interfere in the Dreamer/Kingston main event. The challenge was laid down afterwards for Chikarasaurus Rex in Philly, Dreamer and Kingston vs. Claudio and Ares... SWEET! Anyway, good reviews all around, but with Chikara, who'd have expected any less?

- AJ Styles somehow couldn't make a TNA house show in Louisiana, so to fill in for him in the main event, Booker T wrestled Rob Van Dam in a nice surprise for the crowd. TNA does a lot wrong, but hey, good for them by giving the crowd a surprise main, and good for Booker T for putting bad blood with the company behind him to work a spot house show.
