It's officially summer now that I'm spending my first weekend down the shore. I'll try to get another update or two before I come home, but it's vacation time for me, so I'm kind of guy incognito. I'd write a site-specific Chikara preview for this weekend for all my Detroit and Cleveland, but I think my Camel Clutch Blog preview of the event will just have to suffice. In addition to the forthcoming FF, how do you guys like my CCB content so far? Are you reading it even?
Anyway, here are five questions that probably have nothing to do with each other. Enjoy!
1. Who's your favorite wrestler, all-time?
2. Does the WWE necessarily have to have a TV-14 product for you to enjoy it?
3. Do you think a "Bash at the Beach"-type PPV, outdoors and on the beach, could work today?
4. Of all 14 of the NXT rookies so far aside from Kaval and Bryan Danielson, who has impressed you the most thus far?
5. TNA's impending extreme invasion... like, dislike or indifferent?
Remember you can contact TH and ask him questions about wrestling, life or anything else. Please refer to this post for contact information. He always takes questions!
1. Who's your favorite wrestler, all-time?
ReplyDeleteBret Hart
2. Does the WWE necessarily have to have a TV-14 product for you to enjoy it?
No. As long as the matches are good and the storyline's are decent, I can get behind a product.
3. Do you think a "Bash at the Beach"-type PPV, outdoors and on the beach, could work today?
Yes, especially under the TV-PG setting. Although the divas would have to not be on the show, because that pushes it to PG-14. lol
4. Of all 14 of the NXT rookies so far aside from Kaval and Bryan Danielson, who has impressed you the most thus far?
Wade Barrett. There is just something about the dude that makes we want to hear him talk, see him wrestle. Although, I could do away with the silly duck lips when he purses them.
5. TNA's impending extreme invasion... like, dislike or indifferent?
As long as Heyman would be running the show, it would be awesome, I think. But the problem is it's been done to death since WWE bought ECW/WCW, so it would have to do something truly revolutionary to get over.
1. Who's your favorite wrestler, all-time?
ReplyDeleteCurt Hennig is still my all time favorite. He was my fav from the moment he debuted as Mr Perfect.
I remember going to a house show at the Cow Palace and there was a guy who was also rooting for Henning. "I LOVE TO SEE YOU CHEAT".
In his IC title match with Texas Tornado (who held the IC belt at the time), I openly rooted for him and I swear that he got a 3 count that was ignored. Sadly, he ended up losing to TT.
2. Does the WWE necessarily have to have a TV-14 product for you to enjoy it?
No. The blood stoppages are really fucking stupid, but other than that, as long as they have good wrestling, good stories, and good characters, I'm there. My problems with WWE (other than blood) really stem from other reasons.
My biggest issue is that they give a world title to a guy and then treat him like a chump for a couple months till they job him out to an established guy. It's silly. If a guy isn't ready to be the top guy, then do NOT give him the world title.
3. Do you think a "Bash at the Beach"-type PPV, outdoors and on the beach, could work today?
No. I don't think it worked then. It was stupid. And don't get me started at that motorcycle one. That was ra-tarded.
4. Of all 14 of the NXT rookies so far aside from Kaval and Bryan Danielson, who has impressed you the most thus far?
Obviously Wade Barrett. I have only seen one ep of NXT2 so that could change, but after Danielson, Wade is the best. He's the best talker I've seen from all the NXTers and he's good in the ring. And don't forget his dominance of the ringside. He needs a better finisher tho. It's too bad they can't do piledrivers anymore (unless you are UT) cause he's kind of a throw back type wrestler (no real gimmick other than just being a badass). He's like the british version of Stan Hansen (meaning all business; no fan fare; etc).
Kaval has some great moves tho and I hope he some day takes Rey's slot. That leaping double stomp from the top rope to the back of that 7' dudes neck was fucking brutal (read: awesome).
5. TNA's impending extreme invasion... like, dislike or indifferent?
Really? REALLY?!?
Who gives a shit about these guys at this point beyond them showing up every once in awhile on the undercard for nostalgia. Sadly, they will likely go over the young TNA guys just like Angle and every other ex-WWE, WCW, ECW guy does.
