TNA Just Doesn't Learn (Spoiler Alert, Spoiler Alert)

Spoilers ahoy!Via Pro Wrestling Dot Net

The plan for tonight's TNA Impact tapings is for Rob Van Dam to vacate the TNA World Heavyweight Championship tonight because of worked injuries suffered at the hands of Ric Flair's Fortune stable at the end of the Whole F'n Show tapings to be aired this Thursday. A title tournament will be held starting with next week's show and presumably culminating at the No Surrender PPV.

You want to know what I think of this?

Jesus disapproves

Seriously, for a company that claims it wants to differentiate itself from the "entertainment"-based WWE, it really doesn't care much about its top title to get it off the waist of the current Champion, y'know, in the ring. God forbid RVD have to put AJ Styles or Kazarian or whomever in the ring. It didn't have to be squeaky clean, but it would have given the title more credibility than just being dropped like that, and not even for a legit injury. It's lazy booking, period.

Oh yeah, I forgot, this the same company that has had their Women's title change hands via lock box with the defending Champion actually winning her fall and via DQ by a person who wouldn't automatically have triggered a title switch. I guess they want to be gender-equal in the way they devalue their top titles!

And before anyone tells me that I should wait to see this all play out, bullshit, this kind of angle rarely works, and I'm not giving TNA the benefit of any doubt that they will until they start producing shows that are awesome on a consistent basis.
