Wrestling Six Packs: Best Early '00s WWF Theme Songs

Shitty wrestler, great theme song

Okay, enough Miz for today. Let's get back into the swing of things. Six Pack time! This week, it's another round of theme songs. This time, we're gonna look at theme songs, from the early Aughts. It was a time after the Attitude Era but before the current era. If it sounds arbitrary, it probably is. But anyway, here goes:

1. Triple H

Oh man, I hate Triple H, but the guy's always had some great theme songs. His initial singles theme was amazing. I'd get excited when I heard it, then remembered who was coming out. Oh well.

2. Christian

When they split Edge and Christian, they really went all out on identifying Christian as the jealous younger brother. This combined with the ostentatious entrance and of course his natural awesomeness made Christian the ultimate underutilized wrestler in the early 2000s. Glad that changed, oh wait...

3. Matt Hardy

Speaking of split up tag teams, Matt never dropped this theme. Towards the end of his WWE run, it was the ONLY good thing about him. The band who plays it, Monster Magnet, is pretty boss by the way.

4. Chris Benoit

Again, I know the guy's a piece of shit murderer, but this was a righteous theme song.

5. D-Generation-X

The original DX theme is a classic, yes. Having them switch to the Run DMC one was a blatant attempt to sell the rap theme CD, but this was a really good song. I think I like it better than even the original theme. It helps that Run DMC are among the best rappers ever and the dude who did the DX theme did mass cell mitosis and became the two lead singers for Linkin Park. That's not a good thing.

6. Dudley Boyz

I had trouble thinking of another theme. Jericho's theme is iconic, but more because it signaled the arrival of Chris Jericho. Kurt Angle's theme was recycled from the freaking Patriot Del Wilkes. THere were a lot of good theme songs, actually, but I always liked this one. The bomb blowing up got the crowd riled up, and it has some nice meaty basslines with bombastic riffs. Nice little theme.

Remember you can contact TH and ask him questions about wrestling, life or anything else. Please refer to this post for contact information. He always takes questions!
