Wrestling Six Packs: Most Wanted Chikara Guest Stars for 2011

A-Double in his last Chikara appearance
There are several things that Chikara is known for. One such nicety is the caliber of guest star that they are wont to get. Just in the last two years alone, they've gotten El Generico, Christopher Daniels, Tommy Dreamer, D'Lo Brown, Kota Ibushi, El Oriental and Bryan Danielson among others. This year looks no different as to start, Generico and SHIMMER Champion Madison Eagles will make their marks at the season premiere. Here are six others I'd like to see, some new to Chikara, others who've been there before.

1. Austin Aries

My first introduction to A Double was at King of Trios '09, and from there, he went on to become one of my favorite wrestlers ever. Now that he's free from his ROH obligations, against his will or not, he's got more dates freed up on his calendar. Good for the rest of the indie world. Whether it was part of a KoT team or whether it was part of the Eddie Kingston Dream Match Tour that is continuing at the season premiere against Generico, any appearance by Aries in Chikara would be money.

2. Low Ki

Speaking of the Kingston Dream Match Tour, here's another matchup to salivate over. Man, imagine Eddie's chops vs. Ki's kicks? Or better yet, Ki/Quack? NERDGASM. Regardless of what role he'd come into Chikara to play, his style fits in Chikara very well. Hell, he's the perfect size.

3. Tito Santana

Tito Santana? Isn't he older than dirt? Well yeah, but I'd gladly plunk down money to be entertained by a Santana/Darkness Crabtree comedy interlude. Santana had a reputation for being an outstanding worker in the past, and hey, he's still wrestling as referenced by his appearance at PWG's Kurt RussellReunion II. This is the kind of unmitigated nostalgia that Chikara goes for and works with.

4. LuFisto

There are plenty of women's wrestlers that Chikara could bring in to accentuate the talents of Sara del Rey and Daizee Haze. Plenty of them fill the "have a great match" criterion, but how many of them would fit the bombastic character one? LuFisto definitely does. Her quirky eccentric style would make her at home in Chikara, not only against the women, but against some of the men as well. While she'd have to scale back her ultraviolent tendencies (which she doesn't have a problem doing in SHIMMER, actually), she'd be super fun to see in a Chikara ring this year.

5. Masato Tanaka

Chikara does well bringing over imports from Japan. Tanaka is known name to us from his ECW days, but outside of JAPW, he really doesn't make a lot of indie appearances here anymore. I'd love to see that change, especially with Chikara, where I think he could have a lot of great matches. Claudio Castagnoli is the first in mind for me, although I'd like to see what he could do with the smaller members of the roster.

6. The Mean Street Posse

C'mon, don't tell me that if they entered King of Trios you wouldn't mark out like a pre-teen, because you would. YOU DEFINITELY WOULD.
