Lagana to Impact

Via Dot Net

Dave Lagana will be leaving ROH to join Impact Wrestling's creative side. Lagana, a former WWE writer, is known best to Internet fans as the founder of the I Want Wrestling website and "movement". On one hand, this might signal more of a lessening of Vince Russo's influence. On the other, I've heard mixed things about Lagana's influence and ideas. I mean, ROH really hasn't lit the world on fire in terms of character development in the time since's gotten there. I mean, anyone can put on a good wrestling show with ROH's roster and mission statement, but Impact's oeuvre is going to include building up colorful personalities. A lot of that has been jettisoning talent that had personality (including one Austin Aries who works for Lagana's new company). Then again, I've also seen Adam Cole light up the Goodwill Fire Association Hall in Reading in a match where he was being offered up to slaughter for Eddie Kingston for Chikara, something he's yet to do as an employee of ROH.

So who knows what kind of impact he'll have at Impact... see what I did there? Either way, at least the former TNA is realizing that the old direction wasn't working and that new minds are totally needed to completely turn things around. Whether Bruce Pritchard and Dave Lagana are those guys has yet to be seen, but this isn't a slam dunk by any means like Paul Heyman would have been.
