Rosa Mendes, valet for former Tag Team Champions Primo Colon and Epico and one of TWB's favorite Divas for totally chauvinistic reasons, was involved in a multi-car accident in Las Vegas, NV last night. Mendes was a passenger in the vehicle, a black Hummer (cue onslaught of WCW jokes), which was stopped at a red light. It was struck from behind as the result of a chain reaction of a Mercedes switching out of a turning lane, causing a truck to jackknife to start the whole thing. Mendes' car was the last one struck, and it traveled ahead two car lengths. Mendes received what was described as "serious whiplash", and herself said that she was feeling a "burning sensation" on the right side of her back and neck.
The injuries sound pretty bad, but at the same time, they could have been worse. Mendes was wearing her seatbelt, which she credited with limiting her injuries to whiplash. Also, the relative bulk of the Hummer was able to protect both driver and passenger. There wasn't any report on the driver's condition. Either way, here's hoping for a speedy and full recovery for Mendes. She may have seemingly gotten off light, but at the same time, any accident is a scary accident.
