AIW to Expand Girls Night Out

Absolute Intense Wrestling's Girls Night Out 7 is this Saturday. I will write a preview for it later in the week, but they seem to have rolled out an announcement regarding their women's division on Facebook. They're actually branding their Women's Championship as "Girls' Night Out" and in addition to the three shows per year, they'll be having GNO matches on the regular cards. Win/loss record will also be kept.

My take on this is that I'm glad more people are trying to do women's wrestling right. AIW has always had their Women's Championship defended, but cultivating more of a division is a great start, especially since they get talent that doesn't normally appear in SHIMMER, SHINE, Women's Superstars Uncensored or nCw: Femmes Fatale. Quite frankly, it would be great if every promotion in America had either a fully realized women's division or were like Chikara or Anarchy Championship Wrestling where there is no gender line. Great move.
