Wrestling Six Packs: Wrestlers Who Could Use a Change of Scenery II - Electric Boogaloo

He could definitely use a change in scenery

One of the first six packs I ever posted was moving wrestlers from one promotion to another in an attempt to rejuvenate their careers via a change of scenery. I think it's been a long enough time to recycle that one, so let's pull out six names that I think could use a change of scenery to put some pep back into their steps.

As with the original, these changes may not be realistic at current time, but I think they'd make sense.

1. Head Bee Guy Tensai to Dragon Gate USA/EVOLVE

As Albert, he never really clicked with WWF audiences. As Archbishop Tensai, he failed to get over with a crowd where the F had been previously gotten out. However, between those runs, he became Giant Bernard and was fantastic at it in Japan. Rather than sending him back to Japan, which would be good for puro enthusiasts and people living in Japan, let's put him in the one American promotion closest to what he'd find in Japan. Okay, so DGUSA isn't exactly New Japan Pro Wrestling. Maybe I'm being too simplistic for the sake of a narrative. Still, I think Tensai might be given the respect needed to flourish, and who wouldn't want to see him trade bombs with Sami Callihan or throw Ricochet around like a Super Happy Fun Ball?

2. The Briscoe Brothers to Chikara

Sure, there's nothing keeping them from working both Chikara and ROH, but at the same time, they've done really everything they could do in the company. They proved they had chemistry with the Chikara roster during the Synergy period earlier this year. Would they be able to tame their foul mouths for the kid-friendlier environment though? Well, maybe I haven't thought this one through altogether, but at least from an in-ring standpoint, they'd own as members of the Chikara roster.

3. Jack Swagger to Impact

When Swagger gets back from his mission to Mars, WWE won't feel like home to him anymore. Okay, that was hokey. Bite me. Not literally, freak. Anyway, Impact seems to be a great home for wayward souls from other companies. Austin Aries, Bully Ray and Mr. Anderson all seem to have found niches in the company, and I think Swagger could do some work down in Orlando.

4. El Generico to WWE

What does he have left to do in the indies? Outside of winning the ROH World Championship, nothing. At this point though, it would feel so anti-climactic since it's been delayed for so long. This man deserves to be on a bigger stage because he, more than anyone else I can think of still remaining in the indies, needs one to contain his charisma and ability. The counterargument is that he's not stale or worn out. I still get excited to see him on PWG and Chikara cards, and I think he would go absolutely bonkers in ACW. That being said, his time is growing short. He needs a spotlight.

5. Candice LaRae to ACW

One of the more disheartening parts of the Super Dragon Q&A was his non-committal attitude towards using LaRae, who was one of the best parts of the PWG undercard (especially against Joey Ryan). Obviously, living in SoCal has its perks, but as a wrestler, I still think she has a lot left in her tank. Enter Anarchy and the American Joshis. There's no doubt in my mind she'd be able to fit in there against either gender. I think she'd break out huge there.

6. Christian to PWG

Creative admits that there's nothing for Christian in WWE. He's okay with that (it's giving him time to rest from injury), which I guess is okay. But when he does come back, what short of a run with the WWE Championship would feel like it's not spinning wheels? They'd have to tell a really strong story, and I'm not sure anyone is holding their breath for WWE Creative to tell a great story for Christian (or anyone not named CM Punk, Daniel Bryan or Kane nowadays). So, in lieu of that, the last thing left for him is to have some great, veteran matches. He'd do well with the WWE roster, but we've seen most of those matches he could already wrestle except programs with Punk and Bryan. I think there's more left for him in PWG, a place where he could also have a little more of a varied palette to work with as well. Besides, wouldn't everyone just lose their collective shit over Christian/Kevin Steen? I would.
