Instant Feedback: Daddy Issues

One of these days, a wrestling company is going to present an upstart wrestler presenting a relationship between consenting adults to an authority figure. One day, that authority figure is going to say "So what? They're consenting adults!" That company is not going to be either WWE or Impact Wrestling. The mood around Impact, judging by the way Kurt Angle bitched and whined on Twitter and how AJ Styles slyly referred to it on camera, was that WWE ripped them off for their AJ Lee/John Cena relationship. So their response was to circuitously copy themselves by taking a cue from the Lee/Cena stuff. My question is that if wrestling mattered in Impact, why should we care if Bully Ray were shtupping Brooke Hogan?

The story is going to be played off that Hulk Hogan is the overprotective father, which again, only raises the issue of why the fuck a father is that involved in his adult daughter's sex life. Then again, it would pretty much play off well for Ray seeing as girls with daddy issues... y'know what, let's not go there. Then again, I'm sick of everyone wanting to feud with the authority figure. We already had Matt Morgan trying to get Hogan's attention. Do we really need Austin Aries also fucking with him?

Then again, Impact seems all about redundancy nowadays. Morgan and Joey Ryan have an Aces and Eights vibe going on. Speaking of that, we're in agreement that Wes Brisco is on a recon mission for the group, right? The only question is whether D'Lo Brown was behind Al Snow's disappearance or whether Snow was targeted because he would say no and Brown accidentally let Brisco in. Either way, I kinda like the idea behind the story, even if I'm not sold on Brisco.

I am sold on Christian York though. I'm really digging him being inserted into the Roode/Hardy feud. I really hope this leads to a Randy the Ram-esque story where he gets a title shot next year or so. But for now, I'll take what I can get. Now just as long he doesn't end up trying to bang someone in authority, we're good.
