February 2, 2013 will be a landmark day in pro wrestling because it is National Pro Wrestling Day. The announcement was made at the Chikara iPPV last night, but Chikara will be but one of eighteen promotions participating in the event, which will take place in Philadelphia at the Derby Ink Gardens on Spring Garden Street. The address on the site is wrong, it's actually 802, not 820. There was some confusion since the 820 address directed to a post office, giving the impression that it was some kind of rib.
Anyway, the best part about this event so far without any names being released for appearance is that it's free admission. That's an enormous amount of goodwill shown by the conglomerate of wrestling companies showing their wares on the Sunday before the Super Bowl. I really hope this is successful enough to be a yearly thing, because it would be a great thing for the ethos, art, and soul of professional wrestling in America to have an event as all-encompassing as this on the ledger.
