Instant Feedback: John Cena Is What He Dropped on Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee

John Cena is a reprehensible piece of human garbage. His answer for the truth Dolph Ziggler spit about his 2012 was bad Photoshop work, implication that Ziggler had no genitalia, and dropping fecal matter on him. Real mature, John. Like, I've long since stopped caring about alignments meaning a thing, but why the fuck can't my good guys be at least decent people with an edge? There's a difference between being one of those and a piece of shit. John Cena dropped himself on Ziggler and AJ Lee at the end of the show.

Contrast that with Alberto del Rio. The man poured his heart out to Ricardo Rodriguez, let him drive one of his super expensive cars, cheered him on in his Herculean, nigh impossible, task, and even though it was in theory dishonorable, he saved his friend from a knockout punch. Sure, it was weird seeing him in all the trappings of his old character, but I felt something for him that I have never felt for John Cena. It was pathos. Good vibes. It was what you wanted from a 2012 babyface.

But that doesn't change the fact that the last RAW of the year was sort of emblematic of RAW all year, at least after it went to three hours. There was some entertaining kitsch (Team Hell No interrupting 3MB's "rehearsal"), there was some cringeworthy stuff (really, the Mae Young pregnancy stuff had a chance, but yuck), and there was a lot of good wrestling. The Sheamus/Ziggler and Tag Team Championship defense were both really slick free TV matches, but considering who were involved, it wasn't surprising.

Anyway, if I may sort of ruminate on RAW for 2012, I think it was an actual improvement on prior years. Three hours has been a net positive, mainly because we've gotten more wrestling and seemingly subtle changes in WWE's net direction. Hopefully, we get more of the same in 2013, if not more improvements. However, with Rock bringing back his dick joke and gay bashing caravan to WWE, I'm not sure I have too much hope for more change...
