LuFisto has been wrestling men for years, really. Really, if you're willing to step into the death match arena, really, does it matter what gender you are? I hardly think so. She has given a lot of her life to wrestling that she should get something back. She's revered as a woman wrestler in her native Canada and in SHIMMER, but part of dissolving the gender barrier is being able to be recognized as a wrestler without any modifier. North Shore Professional Wrestling helped facilitate this dissolution by not only putting Lufi into a title match, but having her win it as well.
But let's not put this all on the promotion. LuFisto is a warrior in that ring, a wrestler who demands to be given attention, praise, and gold. This has been a long time coming, and I hope more companies south of the Canadian border start giving her the same treatment. She, like Rachel Summerlyn, deserves it.
