WWE has announced today that WrestleMania XXX will take place on April 6, 2014 in New Orleans, LA at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome at a press conference in the city (which hosted last night's Elimination Chamber event). This is actual confirmation of a report floated last year by WrestleChat.Net that first broke that WWE and the city were in talks to host the landmark anniversary.
This will be the first decade-anniversary show not to be held at Madison Square Garden. It is understandable, given that Mania has become a stadium show rather than an arena event. I'm not sure why the timing was that they didn't do the show at Met Life Stadium next year, but hey, in the grand scheme of things, it's not a big deal. New Orleans is a perfect setting for a big event such as this because the city and area is culturally iconic and full of a bounty of things to both do and eat. Plus, the pictured logo above looks really cool.
