Way to Fraternize with a White Supremacist There, John

Photo via Imgur

Oh hey, nothing to see here, right? John Cena's just doing what he normally does, taking pictures with the troops. Except in this shot, the soldier he's posing with on the right is clearly exposing a tattoo with the SS's logo on it. For those who don't know, the SS was the paramilitary arm of the Nazi Party, responsible for some of the most heinous atrocities committed by the Third Reich before and during World War II. I'm not saying John Cena espouses the beliefs of white supremacists, nor do I think he's to blame for this fiasco. However, maybe there should've been more quality control before whoever was in charge of posting photos to the WWE's Facebook page decided to slap that picture up for everyone to see. This is a fuck-up of the highest order.

EDIT: The soldier in question may not be a white supremacist. According to this article printed in 2010, the Marine Corps Scout Snipers used the SS logo for their own. They were called on it, and they claimed that they didn't know. That makes the guy in the picture a bit more nebulous in belief, but y'know what? It's been almost three fucking years. That's too long to claim ignorance. Way too long. Sorry, no sympathy for that guy at all. And regardless? WWE should not have slapped it on their Facebook page. That's the biggest stink out of all of this.
