Finlay Released

Finlay has been released from his contract with WWE. According to F4W Online, who cites a bunch of other sources, Finlay was let go as a scapegoat for a house show incident in Champaign, IL, on Friday where Miz interrupted the National Anthem in attempt to get more heel heat for him later that night in a title defense against Randy Orton. The National Guard took offense to it, and feathers were ruffled. Finlay was in charge of laying out that house show, so he took the fall.

If this is true, then I have to say I don't blame the WWE for pulling the trigger. Well, I don't think it was a fireable offense, but the company can't keep taking black eyes in the PR department. However, the thing to remember here is that even Alvarez's reporting here seems to indicate that we don't know the whole story. It indicates that he had to ask around to get details and only got "a couple of people believing it to be true". So there's probably more to this. But what is confirmed is that yes, there was an incident in Champaign Friday and yes, Finlay is gone. If I find out more, I'll post it.

Remember you can contact TH and ask him questions about wrestling, life or anything else. Please refer to this post for contact information. He always takes questions!
