Instant Feedback: Phoned In

It's like there's this clause in the WWE that they can't put on more than three or so strong RAWs before having to throw a clunker out. Tonight was a clunker. Outside of Batista's outstanding farewell segment, the replay of Bryan Danielson kicking Michael Cole's head in and Maryse's cleavage, there was nothing really of note on this show that made me feel like I made the right choice watching rather than the season finale of Chuck or giving the Flyers my undivided attention as they dispatched Les Habitantes and clinched an improbable berth into the Stanley Cup Finals.

The wrestling was flat, we had a return of terrible comedy in the form of that Superstar Search segment (which at least ended well with Santino coming out) and worst of all, it felt like the announcers took the night off. The most glaring example? The beatdown from that heretofor unnamed Samoan team on the Hart Dynasty. Lawler and Cole said all of two words during it. Didn't put the trio, which I think included Jimmy Snuka's daughter, over, didn't wonder aloud who they were, didn't put over that it was a heinous attack. It made the constant lackadaisical suprised ruminations of Mike Tenay and Taz sound professional.

They really dropped the ball tonight. One of the least compelling RAWs all year.
