It's the Final Four, ladies and gentlemen. Here's who got here:
MSG #1 The Miz d. #7 Cody Rhodes, 87-25
Omni #3 Daniel Bryan d. #1 John Cena, 94-17
MLG #7 Sheamus d. #4 AJ Styles, 57-54
Cow Palace #2 CM Punk d. #5 Claudio Castagnoli, 101-9 (OUCH)
That brings us to our tournament semifinal matches. The first one pits the Madison Square Garden Regional Champion and #1 overall seed The Miz against the Cow Palace Regional Champion and #2 seed, CM Punk. In addition to Rhodes, Miz took out Gunner, El Generico and James Storm. CM Punk's death ray of blowouts saw Frightmare, Dolph Ziggler and Wade Barrett get immolated before Claudio was the most recent victim. To my knowledge, the two haven't wrestled against each other recently, although as alumni of the ECW brand, there's a chance they've tangled in the past.
Our second semifinal is actually a recently-completed feud that was infamously bumped from the WrestleMania card. The Omni Regional Champion and #3 seed Daniel Bryan will battle his nemesis, the #7 seed Regional Champ from Maple Leaf Gardens, Sheamus. Bryan's path to glory before knocking off Cena included YAMATO, Chris Hero and Kurt Angle. Sheamus eliminated Santino Marella, Alberto del Rio and Colt Cabana before taking out the last trace of TNA in this tournament in Styles. Sheamus holds the televised winning streak in this match, taking the last three matches between the two, but on the Internet, it's a whole different story.
