Congratulations are in order for the Ace of Anarchy, the Strong Style Diva and now the only guest on The Wrestling Podcast history with a major top Championship to her resume, Rachel Summerlyn. As you can guess from the third one up there, she won the Anarchy Championship Wrestling Anarchy Championship Sunday at the Lone Star Classic by WINNING the Lone Star Classic. I'm not even sure she was slated to be in the tournament until the last minute either.
This is an honor long overdue for Summerlyn, who has been the heart and soul of ACW for longer than I've been following it. Yeah, Portia Perez came before her as a female holding the belt, but Summerlyn wasn't just a placeholder. I doubt she doesn't survive with the belt until Guilty by Association 7, where she'll have to deal with Darin Childs.
More than titles, this is about respect for wrestlers regardless of gender. ACW has been a leader, if not THE leader in the clubhouse on this for years. I can think of no finer representative of that equity than Summerlyn.
