Obsessive Fan Shot Outside Performance Center

Montalvo was obsessed with Lee

A fan wielding a knife was shot outside the Performance Center yesterday by an Orange County, FL deputy. The fan, named Armando Alejandro Montalvo, was barred from the facility after WWE filed an injunction against him for erratic behavior, which included appearing at the building in gear demanding a job and spreading bodily fluids around the grounds. Additionally, he was said to be obsessed with Lita and AJ Lee. In addition to his altercations at the Performance Center, Montalvo has a record of violent arrests.

The shooting capped a surreal and terrible day yesterday that included a firing for anti-Semitic social media posts, a TNA employee getting arrested for domestic violence, and Hulk Hogan tearfully begging for forgiveness on morning television. Thankfully, the assailant was the only one who was hurt, and it looks like he's going to survive. He'll need to get copious amounts of mental help, because holy shit, this guy seems fucked in the head.

It's also a good time to remind everyone that stalking a woman, or really anyone, isn't funny at all. Obsessive people need mental help, not jokes. As someone with problems with obsessive mental issues (although not nearly as serious as Mr. Montalvo's seem to be), it can be rough to concentrate, and though I've never let those obsessions rule my life to the point where I've acted out erratically, it's easy to see where someone with more severe attacks can slip down the slope. This country, nay, world, needs a better outlook on mental health and on attitudes towards women while I'm at it. In the meantime, at least the incident yesterday wasn't as bad as it could have turned out.
