Episode 114: (What's the Story) Morning Gory?

Bill Hanstock of SB Nation and Progressive Boink stops by to talk about the current turmoil in WWE's main event. We ponder whether Daniel Bryan's plight is too hopeless from start and how WWE is delving headlong into longterm storytelling. Bill presents an intriguing possibility that WWE started fleshing out a template for telling overarching stories starting with the Summer of Punk, using Dr. Who as a backdrop. We talk about PWG and the kind of matches filtering into the company that Bill isn't a fan of. We compare the differences between ROH and PWG crowds, and also praise the career arc of Candice LaRae.

We then move into baseball and talk about the various pennant races. Bill lets fly his rooting interests for this year's potential playoff teams, and he illuminates why, as a Giants fan, he doesn't hate the Dodgers and why he loathes the teams he does hate. We get into Yasiel Puig, Mike Trout vs. Miguel Cabrera, advanced metrics, and rudimentary World Series predictions. Finally, Bill lets me know about the Doritos Locos Throwdown, or the #DoLoThroDo, which will be happening September 21 this year.
