Future Endeavors 4/21 Power Poll: My King of Trios Ballot Didn't Make Much of a Dent

Match of the year? MAYBE.

Welcome to yet another edition of the Future Endeavors Power Poll, a poll ranking wrestlers on a weekly basis based on how awesomely they performed or were portrayed on a Tuesday-to-Monday cycle. It is voted by a who's-who of wrestling bloggers, including my blogging Chav-bro Guerrer-bro, PizzaBodySlam. I will list the top ten, and then post and comment on my ballot. Here goes:

1. The Miz (Last Week: 2)
2. John Cena (4)
3. John Morrison (NR)
4. Sin Cara (6)
5. R-Truth (5)
6. Randy Orton (NR)
7. CM Punk (NR)
8. Christian (8)
9. Alberto Del Rio (3)
10. Dolph Ziggler (NR)

And now, my ballot:

1. El Generico - The Generic Luchador did some major work this weekend, throwing down three great matches in three nights at Chikara King of Trios. His Rey de Voladores final against the 1-2-3 Kid was one of the best matches of the year. Gotta give it up for El G. ¡OlĂ©!

2. 1-2-3 Kid - Is this vote tinged with nostalgia? Maybe, but in my defense, nostalgia rules. Kid also turned in three really great performances in what could be his last active wrestling appearance ever. Major props to the man, the myth, the legend.

3. Christian - He won himself a battle royale and a chance to wrestle for the World Heavyweight Championship, if I'm not mistaken, his first ever major World title shot in WWE (The ECW Championship doesn't count).

4. Alberto del Rio - Smackdown's quickly becoming his show. Too bad he'll be moved over to RAW Monday, or at least that's what I'm thinking will happen.

5. Rey Mysterio - You don't have the best non-Chikara match of the week, win it and not get ranked. Mysterio deserved to be in the top 10 this week, dammit!

6. The Colony - They won the whole shebang this weekend after two years of being thwarted (2009, because FIST retired Worker Ant and kept them from having a full lineup and 2010, because Derek Sabato is a cheating bastard). Good job for Chikara's resident ants.

7. Mason Ryan - I can't be the only one who thoroughly enjoyed him nearly popping an aneurysm in his head wanting to skullfuck Randy Orton on RAW, could I have? Seriously, that was awesome.

8. Dolph Ziggler - He cut his hair... BOOO!!! He had a good match with Evan Bourne and looks to be getting a renewed push to the top of the card... YAY!!!

9. Eddie Kingston - War King had himself a good weekend too, wrestling in two really nice matches in two nights. He's quickly becoming one of my favorite workers. Love his style, and his match with Tozawa would have been the match of Night 3 if it weren't for Generico and Kid.

10. Manami Toyota - Seriously, she makes me want to hole up in my living room and watch hours on end of early '90s Joshi. Loved seeing her in the ring with the men, especially Dick Togo, and I thought her match with Madison Eagles was amazing on Night 3. Plus, I'm sucker for a gal who gets into the ring and actually smiles because she loves what she does. Seriously, the look on her face after QuackSaw Toyota beat SAT on Night 1? It was like she had just wrestled her first match how excited she seemed. I love that shit.
