The jovial Goliath...

Into the final region for the first round, and it's out in San Francisco at the immortal Cow Palace. Before we get to the matchups, let's run down the results from the last pod out of Canada at Maple Leaf Gardens:
#2 Sara del Rey d. #15 Michael Elgin, 67-9
#7 Austin Aries d. #10 Wade Barrett, 44-33
#3 Alberto del Rio d. #14 Portia Perez, 59-18
#6 Cody Rhodes d. #11 Ayako Hamada, 63-13
Alright, and without further ado, the final region, the Cow Palace. The top seeded TNA World Champion Robert Roode will do battle with the #16 seeded Chikara Young Lions Cup Champion Tadasuke. Tadasuke took the YLC back with him to Osaka after winning it, and he has only defended it in his native Osaka Pro Wrestling. Will the mystery be too much of an obstacle for the leader of the selfish generation?

Next up, #8 seed and at-large berth Mike Quackenbush will take his 1,000 holds and use them against one of #DemBoys, the #9 seed and ROH Tag Team Champion Mark Briscoe. There is a distinct possibility that this match could happen in the near future given that the Briscoes are at the epicenter of the ROH vs. Chikara proceedings. Will Quack win one for his students and promotion?

Third match pits the #4 seed who was nominated for his PWG Tag Team Championship but who has since after seeding was announced garnered the PWG World Championship as well, Kevin Steen, against the CZW World Champion, the #13 seed MASADA. Neither man is a stranger to crazy, blood-soaked brawls as referenced by the former's wars in PWG and ROH and the latter's in CZW and ACW. How much carnage will these two men battle to to decide a winner?

Finally, in what might be the biggest weight mismatch in the tourney's short history, the #5 seed and at-large bid The Big Show will do battle with the #12 seed and DGUSA Open the United Gate Champion Ricochet. The former Helios already took out Roderick Strong in the play-in round, but this is a far more gargantuan challenge for the cocky young member of Blood Warriors. Will Show squish Ricochet and squish him good?
